Conference attendees will have the opportunity to add on an Industrial Visit which will take place on Friday 12 September, following the conclusion of the ICMR Conference on Thursday 11 September.

External visits have both minimum and maximum capacities and will be charged at £30 per person for conference attendees and £50 per person for anyone not attending the conference.


Option 1 - BMW (Solihull)

Plant Hams Hall is a cutting-edge production facility located in North Warwickshire, not far from Birmingham, in the UK. It’s a part of the company’s global drivetrain division, committed to supporting BMW Group’s open technology approach to efficient mobility.

From producing the latest generation of engines and machining key engine components, to starting a journey towards new technologies, Plant Hams Hall is a high performing plant supplying engines for many of the latest products, powering MINI, BMW and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Since first opening in 2001, the plant has delivered both high-volume production as well as low-volume flexible manufacturing and special projects, making a long-term and valuable contribution to the success of BMW Group.

Virtual Presentation - Spirax Sarco (University of Birmingham)

Spirax Sarco will run a 1 hour online workshop which can be viewed from the Teaching and Learning Centre (where the ICMR Conference will take place). You can learn more about this company by visiting the Spirax Sarco website.

The session timings are to be confirmed but approximate timings are 9.30/10.00 - 10.30/11.00.

Free to attend (£0) - but registration required due to room capacity


As part of the organisation of this conference, The University of Birmingham is collecting income via registration fees and sponsorships on behalf of the Consortium of UK University Manufacturing and Engineering Heads (COMEH).
