Industrial Visit Options (Friday 12 September)

IICMR 2025 attendees have the opportunity to add on an Industrial Visit which will take place on Friday 12 September, following the conclusion of the ICMR Conference on Thursday 11 September. Non-attendees are also welcome to join one of the visits (or the virtual session), at the increased cost of £50.

 

The following options are available:

 

Option 1 - BMW (Solihull) - £30/£50

Option 4 - Virtual Presentation from Spirax Sarco (University of Birmingham) - FREE

 

Full details on these options are available on the conference website Industry Visits page. Please note it is no longer possible to book onto visits to LISI aerospace or MAZAK.

 

Option 1 includes return coach travel and refreshments (not lunch). Coaches will depart from the University of Birmingham at 09.15 and will return by 14.00

External visits have both minimum and maximum capacities. 

All visits will be charged at £30 per person for conference attendees, or £50 per person for non-attendees.

 

Option 4 will take place in the Teaching and Learning Centre, University of Birmingham (the ICMR 2025 conference venue) where a live virtual presentation from Spirax Sarco will be streamed. The presentation will last approximately one hour and will begin at 10.00. Refreshments are not included. This is free to attend, £0.

Options will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, and are subject to minimum and maximum number requirements.

 

Accommodation

A small amount of accommodation remains available at both the Edgbaston Park Hotel and The Vale (Student/conference accommodation) for before and after the visits.

Edgbaston Park Hotel

A limited number of rooms are available to book at a discounted rate at the Edgbaston Park Hotel, located just off of the main University campus.

The Vale

Our student accommodation is made up of different buildings known as the Vale Village, located 2 miles south of the city centre and a 20-minute walk from our Edgbaston campus.

    Ensuite bedrooms in a cluster of either four or six rooms, with shared kitchen/lounge facilities. Rooms are equipped with bedding and towels, Free Wi-Fi, courtesy beverages in the kitchen area. Irons and bedside lamps are available from the reception. Breakfast is also included
