The company of biologists

travel bursaries

We are delighted to announce that Neurofly2024 will be offering travel awards, funded by The Company of Biologists. They will cover the registration fees (£400) for a small number of PhD students.

The aim of these awards is to widen the participation in Neurofly, enabling PhD students as representatives of labs that otherwise would not be able to attend.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Being a PhD student in the area of Drosophila neurobiology.
  • Priority will be given to students carrying out their PhD outside the UK and European labs with well-established Drosophila research.
  • Priority will be given to applicants who are the only member of their lab attending Neurofly2024, except for the Principal Investigator (PI).
  • Applications from traditionally (for Neurofly) underrepresented backgrounds are particularly encouraged.

Application:

To apply, please send the following to academic.conferences@contacts.bham.ac.uk:

  • Your CV
  • A statement explaining why you wish to attend Neurofly2024 and how this award will help you achieve this. No more than 200 words.
