The National Capability in Behavioural Research (NCBR) is a major Economic and Social Research Council founded programme designed to significantly enhance the UK’s capacity in behavioural research to inform and drive policy, industry, and wider societal outcomes. This initiative is structured around a “hub” in the form of Behavioural Research UK (BR-UK) co-led by Professor Linda Bauld (University of Edinburgh) and Professor Susan Michie (UCL) and several planned “spokes” to be established over time. The first established spoke is the Centre for National Training and Research Excellence in Understanding Behaviour (Centre-UB) which is led by Professor Jessica Woodhams (University of Birmingham).
