Nigel is Chief Executive of the Nuffield
Trust. Starting as an NHS management as a graduate trainee, Nigel’s career has

internationally. He is an honorary visiting professor at the London School of
Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has worked for the King’s Fund, KPMG and the
NHS Confederation. He has advised on health service reform in Kyrgyzstan,

disciplines to inform health policy and has led the Trust’s work on recent NHS
history. Nigel is a regular contributor to the BMJ and a widely quoted media
commentator. Nigel is leaving the Trust in July to work with WHO Europe
on hospitals and primary care and do more with front line NHS organisations.
