ABSTRACT SUBMISSION 


We warmly invite colleagues from member and non-member institutions to submit conceptual, theoretical, methodological and empirically focused contributions across all topics and contexts relevant to the future of public services, in the UK and the international context. The conference is committed to inclusivity and opportunity, and we welcome proposals for papers, panels, and roundtables.

Single Paper Abstract Submission Guidelines:

  • Title
  • Provision of author details and a single contact email address 
  • Between 250 and 300 words in length 
  • Provision of key words

Contributions may address questions including:

  • What roles can public administration research and teaching play in imagining and shaping the future of public services?
  • How can public services tackle key responsibilities when faced with austerity and cutbacks?
  • How can the public be meaningly involved in the design and delivery of future public services? 
  • How can public sector workforces be upskilled in environments of sustained austerity?
  • How can  politicians and public sector employees collaborate to provide better  outcomes? 
  • Which public sector practices and innovations need to be harnessed and nurtured and how can this be done? 
  • How can public services embrace technology and artificial intelligence while guarding against risk?
