The British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) works to improve care for children with endocrine disorders and diabetes by uniting professionals across disciplines. It includes paediatric endocrinologists, diabetologists, general paediatricians, nurses, and researchers. As the UK’s leading body in this field, BSPED oversees specialist training, supports ongoing education, and promotes collaboration and research. The society develops evidence-based guidelines to ensure consistent care nationwide and advances education for professionals, patients, and families. With support from benefactors, BSPED also funds research and clinical audits to enhance paediatric endocrine and diabetes care. New members are always welcomed.
DRWF is a registered charity (No. 1070607) and company limited by guarantee (3496304). The charity was set up in 1998 to raise awareness of all types of diabetes and associated complications; provide information and support to promote good self-management and to enhance quality of life, whilst funding diabetes research.
Our research funding strategy seeks to establish the causes, prevention and treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes; develop improved management and treatment options; and ultimately find a cure.
We aim to ensure that people have access to the right information and support to develop a proactive self-care approach to successful self-management, to ensure that they are "staying well until a cure is found..."
