Industrial Visit Options (Friday 12 September)

ICMR 2025 attendees have the opportunity to add on an Industrial Visit which will take place on Friday 12 September, following the conclusion of the ICMR Conference on Thursday 11 September.

 

Delegates can choose from the following options:

 

Option 1 - BMW (Solihull) - £30

Option 2 - LISI Aerospace (Rugby) - £30

Option 3 - MAZAK (Worcester) - £30

Option 4 - Virtual Presentation from Spirax Sarco (University of Birmingham) - FREE

Option 1, Option 2 and Option 3 include return coach travel and refreshments (not lunch). Coaches will depart from the University of Birmingham at 09.15 and will return by 14.00

External visits have both minimum and maximum capacities. 

All visits will be charged at £30 per person for conference attendees. (Non-attendees can join trips at £50 per person).

 

Option 4 will take place in the Teaching and Learning Centre, University of Birmingham (the ICMR 2025 conference venue) where a live virtual presentation from Spirax Sarco will be streamed. The presentation will last approximately one hour and will begin at 09.30 or 10.00 (tbc). Refreshments not included. This is free to attend, £0.

Options will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, and are subject to minimum and maximum number requirements.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available to book within the University of Birmingham student halls at £55 per night. These are En-suite bedrooms in a cluster of either four or six, with shared kitchen/lounge facilities. Breakfast is included.

The Vale

Our student accommodation is made up of different buildings known as the Vale Village, located 2 miles south of the city centre and a 20-minute walk from our Edgbaston campus.

Edgbaston Park Hotel

A limited number of rooms are available to book at a discounted rate at the Edgbaston Park Hotel, located just off of the main University campus.

Registrations cancelled before Sunday 10th August 2025 will receive a full refund. No refunds can be processed after this date. Registration names can be substituted at any point by emailing academic.conferences@contact.bham.ac.uk please copy in both parties to confirm consent for the substitution. It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of the organisers to alter the content and timing of the programme or the occasional identity of the speakers. The ICMR 2025 committee and the University of Birmingham’s Event Management Team take no responsibility for non-refundable travel/accommodation in the case of a changed programme or cancelled event.
