Didi Xiao

Founder and Artistic director of the Didi and Friends Chinese New Year Concert series.

Di Xiao has been hailed as 'a pianist of awesome gifts' and was once named among the ten most outstanding young Chinese pianists by International Piano Magazine. A performer, educator, writer and director of the Birmingham International Music Academy, she aspires to create a bridge between Chinese and European cultures. 

Di takes her role as cultural ambassador very seriously and is passionate about giving female artists a voice.


Ziyang Huang

Ziyang is an internationally acclaimed Erhu musician, trained at the China Central Conservatory of Music and University College London. She has performed in over 10 countries, led masterclasses at SOAS and the Royal Academy of Music, and recorded with Sony and Universal. Currently based in London, she continues to inspire globally.

Kang Yang  

  

Kang Yang is a Award winning young artist based in London, renowned for his mastery of the Guzheng&Vocal. Kang’s concert tours span China and Europe, with performances at prestigious venues like theBarbican Center , Serbia National Theater,London South Bank Centre ,London Milton Court,Great British Museum, British Westminster Hall,Hunan Changsha Music hall and Guotai Grand Theatre of China.He has collaborated with prominent musicians and fashion brands, performing at events such as the Burberry/Chanel Fashion Show and recording for British Band -Sault. His performances have been described as “Utterly astonishing debut”by the Guardian.


YuHan Ma   

  

Yuhan Ma, double bassist, graduated with a master's degree from Royal Academy of Music and is currently pursuing Artist Diploma in Royal College of Music. She has been awarded full scholarships from renowned institutions such as Manhattan School of Music and Peabody Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins University. She’s also the principal bass of Royal College of Music, Royal Birmingham Conservatory, Young Musician Symphony Orchestra, etc.

Ma began studying piano at the age of five and switched to studying classical double bass performance after graduating from Shanghai Gezhi High School at the age of 18. In 2019, she won the second prize in Lanyang International Double Bass Solo Competition. In 2021, she earned third prize at the Louisiana International Double Bass Solo Competition and also received third prize at the first Chinese String Solo Competition in the same year.


Mengyao Guo 

Mengyao Guo is an acclaimed pianist based in London. She earned an Artist Diploma in Collaborative Piano from the Royal College of Music, graduating with distinction in 2024, and a Master of Music in Piano Performance studying with Di Xiao and Julian Jacobson from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Mengyao’s skills include solo performance, chamber music and accompaniment.

Mengyao began piano studies at age 8. At Xi'an Conservatory of Music, she focused on Piano Performance and ranked first at the conservatory, studying under Lujia Fu.

Her undergraduate achievements include the National Scholarship in 2018, Outstanding Graduate in 2020, the First Prize in the Professional Group at the Xi’an Xinghewan Piano Competition, Advanced Individual Award for Social Practice at Xi'an Conservatory of Music, and the Second Prize in the Professional Open Group at the Xi’an Division of the Asian International Youth Piano Invitational Competition in 2018.
